U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance (USFRA)—a coalition of farmer- and rancher-led organizations of which CropLife America is a proud industry partner—is accepting votes for the 2013 Faces of Farming and Ranching competition until December 15.
Throughout the summer, USFRA accepted submissions from a diverse group of American farmers and ranchers who have a passion for agriculture and want to share their experiences with a broader audience. The large pool of contestants was narrowed down to nine finalists who were announced at USFRA’s annual Food Dialogues event in New York City. The diverse group of farmers and ranchers come from various backgrounds, geographic locations and areas of food production. Many of them carry on multi-generational farming traditions and have helped usher their family farms into the 21st century through a commitment to continually improving agriculture through the use of innovative practices and technologies.
A group of judges will choose three or four winners of the competition, who will help spread the message of modern agriculture at various speaking engagements and campaigns throughout the year. These spokespeople will be invaluable in communicating the benefits and improvements in agriculture to consumers who seek to learn more every day about where food comes from and how it is grown.
You can learn more about the finalists and help select the Faces of Farming and Ranching by voting for your favorite on the USFRA website.
