Although demand for organic products has grown rapidly since the late 1990s, supplying that level of demand remains a challenge for organic farmers.

Organic farming sometimes involves the use of pesticides! The origin of organic pesticides differs from those used in conventional agriculture, but many organic farmers rely on crop protection products to grow quality crops.

Crop protection products allow farmers to plant earlier in the season due to increased protection against soil diseases that thrive in cold, moist soils. Organic farmers who choose not to use these products must wait until soil conditions improve before planting.
