Question: What do you think is the biggest public misconception about agriculture? How would you help to fix it?
The biggest public misconception is that people think it is simple and easy to grow food. They want to spend less for food, and they want options such as organic. However, they do not realize it is impossible to produce today’s quality and quantity of food using old methods.
In order to feed 7 billion and still growing population, modern agriculture has become a complicated science just as any other field. Weather, climate and economic conditions affect modern agriculture business as much as it does to other business.
Modern agriculture is no longer just a local business. It has been globalized. The food grown in U.S. is feeding the population worldwide.
